I am an artist based in London, working across drawing, sculpture, and material-based practice.
I have long worked closely with natural lacquer, textiles, and paper. Through repeated operations, the tactility, weight, and scale of materials guide the formation of form, which gradually takes shape through the interaction between the body and the material. For me, making is an ongoing process, and I continually remain curious about where it might lead me.
In my practice, drawing and sculpture share a concern for tactility, rhythm, and change, unfolding at different speeds and densities. Some works appear in a state closer to that of an object, while others remain within the act of viewing.
I am interested in how form emerges through continual adjustment, and how it can remain in a state that is not fully defined. Meaning is not predetermined, but is continuously deferred and regenerated through viewing, use, or contact.
