Through the Looking Glass, Mall Galleries, London, UK 28 August – 2 September 2023
Through the Looking Glass was a group exhibition curated by Swanfall Gallery, inviting artists to explore the boundaries of perception and the complexity of shared realities. Featuring works across painting, sculpture, photography, installation, and text, the exhibition highlighted how artists deconstruct and reconstruct our understanding of the world through their practices. Like alchemists, the participating artists transformed raw materials into vessels of insight and meaning. They explored the fractures and gaps in our perception, piecing together new narratives from the fragments of reality. In their hands, reality became a prism—one that refracts infinite possibilities. The exhibition encouraged viewers to step “through the looking glass” into a realm of creative speculation, embracing the layered nature of reality and the multiplicity of ways we perceive the world.
